Owlf Pro Terms

Version 2 · Last updated October 19, 2026

These Pro Terms (the “Terms”) apply to service providers who receive job requests through Owlf (“we”, “us”). By tapping I agree on WhatsApp, you accept these Terms for yourself and your business.

1. Our service

1.1 Owlf connects customers with independent service providers through WhatsApp. We are not a party to your agreement with a customer, and we do not perform or supervise the work.

1.2 We do not guarantee any number of job requests, bookings or earnings.

2. Job requests

2.1 We offer each request to suitable providers near the job, in turn, so that work is shared fairly. Your share takes into account how you respond to requests, your ratings and your reliability. Placement cannot be purchased.

2.2 Requests are sent during the hours you choose (send HOURS to change them) or, if you don't choose, during our standard hours, 7am–9pm. Urgent requests outside your hours are sent only if you choose to receive them. Send OFF to pause requests, ON to resume them, or STOP to end all messages. If several requests in a row go unanswered, we may pause requests until you send ON.

3. Offers

3.1 You set your own price: a fixed price, an estimate, or a visit fee.

3.2 For an estimate, the customer must approve the final price in the chat before work starts. Under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002, the final price may not exceed the estimate by more than 10% without the customer's agreement.

3.3 Questions you ask before making an offer, and the customer's answers, may be shared with other providers quoting the same job.

4. Bookings

4.1 When a customer books you, we share the customer's name, phone number and job address with you, and your phone number with the customer. Until then, contact details are not shared.

4.2 Contact the customer within one hour of the booking.

4.3 Keep the agreed price, any change to it, the visit date and the outcome in the chat. This record is what allows us to support you and the customer if anything goes wrong.

4.4 Tap Job done when the work is complete. If you cannot do a booked job, tap Can't do it as soon as possible so the customer can be helped. We may ask you and the customer how a booking went.

5. Reliability

Customers rely on bookings being kept. Bookings that do not go ahead because of you, or that are left without an outcome, reduce your share of new requests for 90 days. Repeated cases may lead to requests being paused while we review them with you.

6. Repeat customers

6.1 If a customer you met through Owlf contacts you directly about another job, please ask them to send the request through Owlf. When a customer has rated you highly, their next request for the same type of work is offered to you first.

6.2 If a booking made through Owlf is cancelled and you then carry out that job for the customer, the job is treated as booked through Owlf.

7. Service fee

7.1 For each job booked through Owlf and completed, you pay a service fee of 9% of the first $1,000 of the agreed price, 3% of the part from $1,000 to $10,000, and 1% of any part above $10,000, with a minimum fee of $5, plus applicable taxes.

7.2 The agreed price is the fixed price; for an estimate, the final price approved in the chat (or, if none was approved, the lower end of the estimate); for a visit, the visit fee plus any repair price approved in the chat, less the visit fee where it is credited to the repair.

7.3 Joining, receiving requests and sending offers are free. There is no fee for a job that does not go ahead.

8. Payment

8.1 The service fee is due when the job is completed. We send you a payment link each time. You may instead set up automatic payment, so that each fee is paid when the job is completed.

8.2 If fees for two completed jobs are unpaid, new requests are paused until they are paid.

8.3 If the customer reports that the job is not finished, the fee is held until it is. If the job is then not completed, the fee is cancelled, and any amount already paid is refunded.

8.4 If you believe a fee is incorrect, tell us within 30 days and we will review it.

9. Your business

9.1 You operate an independent business. You choose your jobs, prices and hours, and you are responsible for your work, your workers, and your licences (including ESA for electrical work and TSSA for fuel-burning appliances), insurance, permits and taxes.

9.2 Keep your licences current and tell us if any lapses. We recommend general liability insurance. Customers see a badge only for a check we have completed.

9.3 Use customer information only to provide the job requested, and in line with applicable privacy law.

10. Concerns, suspension and ending

10.1 If a customer raises a concern, we will contact you and consider your response before deciding what to do.

10.2 We may pause or remove your access for no-shows, serious complaints, repeated reliability issues, unpaid fees or a breach of these Terms. We will tell you why.

10.3 You may stop using Owlf at any time.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will send you the updated Terms on WhatsApp; to keep receiving job requests, simply tap I agree. Changes do not affect fees for jobs already booked.

12. Privacy and governing law

12.1 Our Privacy page explains how we handle personal information. Customers see your business name, ratings, completed checks and your offers.

12.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
